1.1 Introduction

The Download Toolbar for Microsoft Internet Explorer is first of all an easy-to-use download manager.

Having a download manager inside the Internet Explorer has many advantages. The download manager is always accessible, so once you find the files you want to download it only takes a single click to transfer the files to your hard disk. And you don't have to reenter login information if you want to download files from a password protected site.

Clicking the Download button in the toolbar creates a gallery (a folder on your hard disk) containing the files linked to from the current web page. The downloaded files can be viewed and organized inside the Internet Explorer.

The toolbar download settings can changed to suit specific needs. By changing settings you can make the toolbar either download pictures from a thumbnail gallery, all movies on a web site or simply all the pictures that can be found by surfing from a given web page (limited by the size of your hard disk and other resources, of course).

Downloaded pictures can be viewed individually by using the Next and Previous buttons in the toolbar, or they can be viewed as slideshows. Downloaded movies can be played from inside the Internet Explorer and downloaded documents can be opened.
